Prior experience in biophysics is useful, but not required. Prospective students should be prepared to learn a variety of theoretical and computational tools (nonequilibrium statistical mechanics, nonlinear dynamics, field theory, markov processes, etc.) and should be enthusiastic about applications in biology and soft matter. Our group offers opportunities both for fundamental theoretical work and close collaborations with experimental researchers at University of Toronto and external institutions.
